The decision to declare both a State Of Emergency and a night time curfew in the Haitian Capital comes after fierce fighting by armed gangs who are now in control of most of the city. During the fighting, gunmen entered the main prison in Port Au Prince and quickly overwhelmed the guards, allowing some 4,000 inmates to escape. Eyewitnesses report seeing several bodies inside and around the prison compound. The gangs in haiti which oppose mr henrys rule sense a possible power vacuum and an opportunity to force him from office. A notorious gang leader, a former elite Police Officer called jimmy cherizier, also known as barbecue, has claimed responsibility for the latest outbreak of violence. He has warned mr henry to stay away from haiti, saying the armed groups in the provincial towns and the armed groups in the capital are united. Given the strength of those gangs, enforcing a curfew may prove extremely difficult. That was our carribean correspondent will grant reporting. Harold isaac

Last week an independent inquiry found that chances to stop Wayne Couzens who abducted, raped and killed sarah everard, were repeatedly missed and he should never have been given a job as a Police Officer. Our Special Correspondent lucy manning reports. The everard family have shared some of their favourite pictures of their daughter and sister sarah. A smile that stands out. A future that was shut down. Taken away three years ago by a murderer in police uniform. For the first time, detectives have spoken about finding out that couzens was a colleague, just as officers were minutes away from his house, going to arrest him. One of my Detective Sergeants came running into the office and said, we need to shut the door, you need to hear this. He then put one of our researchers on speakerphone, and she said hes a Police Officer. Hes a Serving Officer in the met. He currently works for the parliamentary and diplomatic protection group. I knew i had to tell my boss, and i canjust remember the

Cities were burned and looted and joe biden paid tribute. President biden it is your purpose to change the world forever in the name of george floyd. Like others, i watched with aweas you channel the good man george floyd was. Laura it was a political opportunity. You can paint police as wildeye racist, and maybe get more young and black voters to the polls. The chaos and crime his policies created would be well worth it. Fastforward to today, did biden mention her name . Of course not. Instead, he patted himself on the back and invoked his personal hero. President biden last year the United States had one of the lowest rates of all Violent Crimes in more than 50 years.
