his private home last night, hundreds of protesters gathered and marched to occupy walker s streets. democrats have 60 days from yesterday to collect the more than 540 signatures that are necessary for the recall to move forward. join me now for his first interview since the recall movement began is wisconsin governor scott walker. first, governor, i have to admit, i don t care if they go to the capital and protest, i don t care if people disagree with you, but to do this to your family, your neighbors, you have kids, how bad was it last fight? well, there were about 1,000 folks out there, and thankfully some of them were supporters but in the end for our neighbors, even more so than for my family. i have a 16 and 17-year-old. certainly i look out for them and worry about the two of them. but i have neighbored on one side that have two small girls and neighbors two houses away that s an 80-year-old woman and i think for them, they didn t ask for this. i asked for it, i can hand tell,
our governor, letting us know we the people, we the people of the state, support what he s doing. missing from this debate the fact that scott walker was elected. a man who tends to work against, he has his political career, he s not an outsider, not a newcomer and republicans swept into power and took the state legislature and knocked down russ fine feingold in the united states senate and and look, recall is already in motion and democrats fired up about this, union protesters saying we re going to recall a lot of the republican senators and come after the republican governor and the recall movement is underway, but maybe democratic senators won t be able to vote in any of the recalls, they ve fled the state and left and actually turned up, news crews discovered them in northern illinois university. they showed up on campus there. take a look at what one state senator had to say when a camera approached.

interviewed? tomorrow scott fitzgerald is one of the four republicans in the senate who is going to be up for recall. his recall election, it s important for a number of reasons. it comes with emotional as well as pragmatic consequences for wisconsin. one, and most obviously, he is the top republican in the state senate and his brother is top republican in the state assembly. two, his opponent, a democrat, has become something of a hero for the wisconsin recall movement for the way she has essentially boot strapped the whole recall shebang. when the top republicans announced they were going to strip union rights in the state, scott fitzgerald, the state senator who is up for recall tomorrow, he was the one republican who had the guts to go on fox news at the time and let the cat out of the bag about why republicans really wanted to destroy the unions and why it was so important to them.
