Our ReporterDimapur, Aug. 29 (EMN): A demand-driven skill development programme under construction sector for Dimapur district commenced here at Town Hall, Dimapur, on Monday. A total of 62 participants will undergo one-week training for plumbing and electrician related works at Town Hall and all the successful trainees will be awarded certificates and tools by the department. During the introductory session of the training programme, chairman of Zynorique Initiatives Society, Richard Belho, said that even though Nagas are well educated yet they cannot see job opportunities in their own home land. On the other hand, Belho said people from outside the state without any education can find jobs and earn their livelihood in Nagaland. Iterating that skill business does not need any investment, he said unlike other businesses, skill is not a talent but that anyone who is interested to learn can acquire the skill. The only criteria to acquire skill are that one should not be lazy, Belho said
Dimapur, Aug. 22 (EMN): To commemorate the 75th anniversary of Peren Township, a demand-driven skill development programme on tiling, plumbing and masonry for the youth of Nagaland in construction sector was conducted at Peren Town Hall on Monday. A DIPR report stated that the programme was organised by the Department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship with Zynorique Initiative Society as the training partner. Dimapur, June 20 (EMN): A week-long skill development programme for youths in the construction sector kicked off at Tamlu sub-division, Longleng district on Monday. The programme, which will culminate on June 26, is being organised by the department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in partnership with Zynorique Initiative Society. The objective of the training is to increase proficiency, grow skill sets, achieve tasks in less time with more results and increase performance, an update from DPRO Longleng informed. It also aims to provide more employability in the construction sector. The inaugural programme was chaired by T Imlisunep Ao, principal of Govt. ITI Mokokchung while short speeches were proposed by student president and village council chairman of Tamlu and Amachong villages respectively.
