DNA tests reveal remains found on Mollymook beach don't belong to conwoman Melissa Caddick

Cops have confirmed remains found washed up on a NSW south coast beach are not those belonging to conwoman Melissa Caddick or a missing snorkeler.   Walkers on Friday night made the grisly discovery of remains believed to be a large piece of stomach flesh which included a belly button at Mollymook Beach. The beach is located 150km from where Caddick's decomposing foot was found wedged inside an Asics shoe on the sands of Bournda Beach leading police to confirm her death.    NSW Police announced on Tuesday afternoon preliminary testing had determined the remains are human but belong to a man.

Shoe sparks new theories on Caddick's final movements | Ballina Shire Advocate

Crime by Mark Morri Premium Content   Police are investigating the "strong possibility" Melissa Caddick was alive for weeks or even longer after she was reported missing from her Eastern Suburbs mansion. Senior officers said despite modelling showing a body could float from Sydney to where her sneaker and remains were found on the NSW south coast, there remain serious doubts they could have drifted that far. They believe the sneaker with skeletal remains inside appears to be in too good a condition to have been in the water for three months. Melissa Caddick went missing from her Dover Heights home on November 13. Picture: Andy Baker.
