A former dog groomer has been punished for injuring a dog's tail which required it to be amputated, authorities said. That groomer was sentenced to six months in jail followed by probation.
LAKE MARY, Fla. - A former dog groomer has been punished for injuring a dog's tail which required it to be amputated, authorities said.
James Cordell Doughty Suthann was sentenced by a judge to six months in jail, followed by three years of probation.
Suthann was arrested on a felony animal cruelty charge after investigators said he became angry when the 8-year-old German Shepard, named TT, would not sit still while being groomed. Investigators said the incident happened in February of 2019 at a grooming salon in Brevard County, where Suthann was working as a contract employee.
A former dog groomer accused of violently abusing a service dog during a grooming appointment in 2019 is expected to be back in court for a sentencing hearing.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Missouri women’s soccer coach Bryan Blitz, who has led the program for the entirety of its 25-year existence, said Sunday that he is retiring to spend more time with his family.
Blitz went 254-216-39 with the Tigers, and he was 299-260-47 in 30 seasons as a college head coach. His tenure at Missouri is the fifth longest in school history behind baseball coach John Simmons (35 years), basketball coach Norm Stewart (32), men’s and women’s track coach Rick McGuire (27) and men’s track and field coach Tom Botts (26).
