Synopsis: A low pressure system developing off the Rockies Friday will trek across Colorado into Kansas Friday night into Saturday morning. The associated warm front will be draped across Kansas and southwest Missouri during the day Saturday, sending a few showers through the area on Saturday morning. The front lifts north as low pressure gets closer to Mid-Missouri Saturday night, increasing moisture and instability across eastern Kansas into western Missouri. Storms that develop as rotating supercells across central and eastern Kansas on Saturday afternoon will congeal into a complex of thunderstorms that will ride along this boundary that will be positioned along I-70 Saturday night. Those storms reach Mid-Missouri late Saturday night and will pose a heavy rain and wind threat.

Temperatures will remain cooler than normal through Friday but a general statewide warming trend will kick in over the weekend. A stronger SW flow will develop Saturday and Sunday as the next Pacific storm begins to hit the west coast. This should kick temperatures back up into the upper 40s to lower 50s by Sunday. By early next week that Pacific storm will pass through Montana and could produce some snow, wind, and cooler temperatures again by early next week.
