This speaks to the qualifications of that individual and how many people recognize this individual s achievements and contributions to our community in 2020.” Livermore is a former teacher at the Carrot River High School, coach, and mentor, who served on town council from 2017 to 2020. Donaldsonville Mayor Leroy Sullivan recognized the contributions of the River Road African American Museum in conjunction with Black History Month.
Todd L. Sterling, the museum’s board chair, and Darryl Hambrick, acting executive director and co-founder of the museum, were among museum representatives welcomed to City Hall for the Feb. 25 presentation. Hambrick also serves as funeral director for Hambrick Family Mortuary in Gonzales.
“As many of you know, we have been celebrating Black History Month profiles all month during February,” the mayor said during his live program. “Today, we conclude our special profiles by featuring the River Road African American Museum for the efforts of their founders, directors, and past and current board members.”

The summit will begin Wednesday, with a youth summit from 4-5 p.m., followed by a series of short programs from experts about the current status of bees and other pollinators from 6-8 p.m. On Thursday from 2-6 p.m. experts will focus on current research and efforts to protect habitats in the future.
