the country s midsection for a second straight night, killing at least one person in arkansas. potentially devastating storms are expected today from texas to tennessee. in mississippi, security cameras captured a tornado that swept through a scrap yard, ripping the roof right off a building. in arkansas, more than a dozen homes were destroyed by a so-called wedge tornado. that slammed one small town. the massive twister packed winds of speeds up to 135 miles per hour. meanwhile, parts of popular bluff, missouri, are under water after a damaged levee failed to hold back a river. nbc s bill karins will have more. the violent crackdown by syrian forces intensified yesterday. but anti-government protesters showed no signs of backing down in their demands for reform. security forces detained hundreds in raids or at government checkpoints tuesday, reportedly even firing on those trying to retrieve bodies of protesters killed since friday. the u.n. secretary-general says a huma
