Art explores a year of confinement
Artists Traci Harmon-Hay, Megan Hinton and Susan Neilsen will present a pop-up art exhibition marking one year of the pandemic. The art represents the experience in the past year for three artists who typically prefer isolation and quiet to work, but are wondering when life will get back to normal. Harmon-Hay creates watercolors showing figures living in “found ubiquitous objects,” like sardine cans or matchbooks. Nielsen mixes found typography and text with “an abstract painterly process to distill new meanings from typical associations.” Hinton combines found material in assemblage with painting and drawing to make sculptural interpretations.
