Misleading posts on Facebook and Twitter say minors in San Francisco are consenting to COVID-19 vaccines without their parent’s permission. San Francisco issued a health order allowing emancipated minors and those considered “self-sufficient” to consent to receive the Pfizer vaccine.
San Francisco issued further guidance for healthcare providers administering COVID-19 vaccines to minors. The guidance says healthcare providers are required to do everything possible to get the consent from a parent or legal guardian before giving a vaccine.
