Sowore’s legal team led by Mr Femi Falana (SAN) will move a motion to strike out the case known as FGN vs Omoyele Sowore and Olawale Bakare. Nobel laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka has reacted to the withdrawal of treason charges against #RevolutionNow convener, Omoyele Sowore, by the Nigerian government. The literary icon described the case as a complete waste of time and resources, adding that he always knew it would go nowhere. “Just a bloody waste of time and resources! If ever there was a case that was never headed anywhere, this beats the record,” Soyinka said in a terse message on Thursday.
Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Abuja, has again threatened to strike out the farcical treason charge filed against the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2019 and 2023 general elections, Omoyele Sowore, if the Nigerian government who is the complainant is not ready to go on with the case five years after.
