New Delhi, Feb 18 (IANSlife) For Indian-Australian choreographer and educator Ashley Lobo, educating and mentoring aspiring dancers to find their place on the global stage is a big part of his life but he is equally pleased when children join his classes.
He tells IANSlife: "They join to pursue a hobby but often discover a lifelong passion! When dancers start young, their bodies and minds are far more receptive and it is a joy to see them leap from one milestone to another. There is nothing wrong with starting late but if the basics have not been established correctly, it is harder for the student to grow to the next level of ease and expertise. Starting young gives dancers more room to explore genres and career options in the field of dance."

New Delhi, Feb 18 (IANSlife) Kochery C Shibu, a former navy veteran and now a bestselling author of 'Men and Dreams in the Dhauladhar', says that there was a story teller in him since school days. The 1981 National Defence Academy graduate adds that a vast amount of travelling and seeing places and people first hand goes a long way in adding authenticity to the writing.
'Faith and the Beloved' is his second book. Many of the characters in the novel are inspired from those whom the Bengaluru-based author has encountered during his extensive travel.
An IANSlife chat with author Kochery C Shibu:

New Delhi, Feb 15 (IANSlife) Celebrating friendship and companionship during these challenging times, five portraits taken by artist Michelle Poonawalla in her home city of Pune, are part of an ongoing exhibition in an Ahmedabad gallery.
Poonawalla, an artist who lives and works between London and Pune, is showing this new series of drawings as part of 'Kagaz', a group exhibition of works on paper which runs until February 26 at 079 Stories.
For Poonawalla, drawings and works on paper represent a very personal and emotive medium, allowing her to delicately portray the emotion of the subjects. As with Poonawalla's larger body of work the drawings are intended to create a moment of reflection for the viewer and ask them to think about their surroundings and the wider world.
