Home Affairs Minister Clare O’Neil and Immigration Minister Andrew Giles signed off in August on desperate attempts to have the child sex criminal detainee NZYQ sent to another country in a bid to end the High Court case which this month led to the release of 141 asylum seekers, according to documents filed to the High Court.
The High Court appears to have green-lit a system of preventive detention for the detainees with criminal records that have been released by its controversial NZYQ decision.
