AMBALA: With the arrests of 29 accused persons so far - 12 in Ambala and 17 in Yamunanagar districts, the police claimed to have broken the entire net.
The Tamil Nadu police had arrested 11 people including a chemical engineer named Ilaya Nambi who allegedly sold the industrial methanol added to the spurious liquor which has killed 23 people so far.
Speaking at a press conference, the Thanjavur district collector said that the police are investigating the possibilities of the deaths being due to suicide or murder.
The deceased has been identified as K Kanniappan (58), who unfortunately succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the Government Villupuram Medical College Hospital.
