U.S. Rep. Lisa McClain was at the Southern border Wednesday with a group of House Republicans for an event with former
President Donald Trump, casting votes remotely by proxy citing the “ongoing public health emergency.”
McClain cast roll-call votes by proxy both Tuesday and Wednesday, saying she couldn’t attend in person in the House chamber because of the pandemic, according to records filed with the House clerk.
McClain did a TV interview with the Fox Business show Varney & Co. from South Texas, where the Macomb County lawmaker was among about two dozen House Republicans who joined Trump.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - Two Democrat incumbent City of Hattiesburg council members were reelected to four-year terms, while the Democratic nominee for mayor won’t be decided until April 27.
Vanessa Jones and Lakeylah White will face off in a runoff in three weeks for the opportunity to challenge incumbent Hattiesburg Mayor Toby Barker in June’s general election.
Jones and White were the top two vote getters in a three-person race in Tuesday’s Democratic primary.
