California Horse Racing Board Issues Bisphosphonate Complaint Against Jeff Metz - Horse Racing News

California Horse Racing Board Issues Bisphosphonate Complaint Against Jeff Metz Sponsored by: Osphos, one of two bisphosphonates FDA-approved for use in horses four years old and up The California Horse Racing Board issued a complaint against trainer Jeff Metz last week over a finding of bisphosphonates in the Sept. 27, 2020 post-race sample of the gelding Camino De Estrella, reports the  Daily Racing Form. The drugs are not yet specifically classified in California, so the positive is being adjudicated under the “prohibited substances” rule with a Class 1, Category A penalty. However, Metz's attorney Darrell Vienna believes the trainer will be exonerated. Popular at the claim box, Camino de Estrella has been in the care of five different trainers since 2019, including Tim Yakteen, Mark Glatt, Steve Knapp, Metz, and most recently Bill Spawr.

Group care home for disabled senior citizens surprises neighbors

WEST OMAHA, Nebraska (WOWT) — Homeowners in a newer West Omaha subdivision are shocked to learn what is being built in the middle of their neighborhood. They’re used to home construction in Spruce Ridge but one new foundation has neighbors taking a second look. Neighbor Steve Knapp said, “You see it’s a massive foundation, certainly a lot different and larger than any residential home would be, so it stands out.” Zillow lists the property as having eight bedrooms and six baths. Neighbor Mark Watton said,” Originally, I was told it was going to be a rehab center.” The builder has been put on notice to cease and desist construction or face legal action. No workers were seen this morning.

AFBF's Duvall Disappointed in ITC Ruling and Corn Acreage Climbs - AG INFORMATION NETWORK OF THE WEST

AFBF's Duvall Disappointed in ITC Ruling and Corn Acreage Climbs Wednesday Feb 17th, 2021 From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson with your Agribusiness Update. **American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall is disappointed by the International Trade Commissions ruling on blueberry imports. Duvall says the ITC failed to recognize the damage certain imports are doing. He says these farmers face unfair competition from foreign growers and the decision demonstrates much work is still needed to address international trade imbalances. Duvall says they’ll continue working with USDA, USTR and the Department of Commerce to find meaningful assistance for our domestic blueberry industry.
