subpoena authority, the ability to commence and launch investigations. the house needs to use every single day they have left to put out there any possible threat that they'll want the senate democrat majority to pick up on and run with. you have the power right now. there are so many things -- it's a target-rich environment, whether it's trump's tax returns, whether it's the deals jared kushner was involved in, other deals, for all the talk we'll hear about hunter biden, there's plenty to be heard about the people who actually worked in the west wing, in the white house, under the donald trump administration. >> so, kurt, we keep hearing about this deadline that's coming up when the republicans take control of the house. it's almost as if when you hear this talk that democrats are going to be helpless to issue subpoenas, democrats are going to be helpless to be able to do things they need to do to continue these investigations of january 6th and donald trump. it's almost like the people that are saying that, that are riding that, that are opining about it,

when you hear him saying there are some things he wants to see. changes and if mccarthy is not willing to make them he would be go to make them. quickly do you agree with that? what are the changes that you would like to see? >> well, they are looking at the rules package. how many autonomy will individual members have. can they recall the speaker the way they did with john boehner or will they have that tool taken away? will committee chairman have subpoena authority? that has been taken care of. what sort of ability will they have to impeach somebody like secretary mayorkas? there is a list of a dozen things that they are really concerned about that they want commitments on. the other part of the conference doesn't want to give those. so again the battle, the number one question is how do they unify? right now nobody sees that path. >> harris: i'm glad you went that detailed. it's good governing, too.
certainly in the state of new york say that you might hold the record for churches there -- governor, you stated that the new york state board of elections is currently investigating your opponents campaign for possibly having collaborated with two campaign super pacs in violation of state law. the times is reporting that a chief enforcement counsel at the state board of election has requested subpoena authority. because two republican members of the state election board unexpectedly did not attend a vote this week to grant that authority, it will likely have to wait until after election day. a spokesperson for congressman zeldin has called this a deflection and a conspiracy theory. what's your reaction? >> talk about conspiracy theory. lee zeldin and donald trump and maga republicans are responsible for the most
