Currently, fines are low, several county supervisors agreed. For the first offense for illegal dumping the fine is $100, $200 for the second and $500 for the third. But supervisors threw out some numbers in the neighborhood of $500 for the first offense, $2,500 for the second and $10,000 for third.
Four women went to the nonprofit LULAC for support, including legal assistance, after claiming sexual harassment against the Monterey County Sheriff's Office. That means there are at least two more possible victims.
