KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 7): The Taman Tun Dr Ismail Residents Association (TTDI RA) has urged the Kuala Lumpur mayor and Yayawan Wilayah Persekutuan to not waste public funds on challenging the decision by the Court of Appeal to quash the condominium development in Taman Rimba Kiara, and instead build permanent housing for longhouse residents living in Bukit Kiara.
In a statement, the association said the Court of Appeal s decision was widely hailed as a landmark ruling including by the Malaysian Bar and legal experts. The Datuk Bandar [mayor] and Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan [YWP] should instead demonstrate their willingness to abide by the significant pronouncements issued by the Court of Appeal and concentrate resources on reforms to be in line with the judicial guidance provided, it said.
