The Camden firm blamed reduced inventory due to a global shortage of microchips.
"Given our inventory at this time, we were pleased with the June sales results,” Subaru President and CEO Thomas Doll said in a statement.
Subaru said sales for the first half of 2021 were up by 20.5 percent from a year earlier, when business was hampered by pandemic restrictions.
The company reported overall sales of 42,877 vehicles last month, down from 53,911 in June 2020.
It noted declines of 54.8 percent for Foresters, 51.1 percent for Imprezas and 37.4 percent for Crosstreks.
The firm noted an increase of 55.9 percent for its Outback model.
The Forester remained Subaru’s most popular model, with almost 96,000 sales over this year’s first six months.
