after the four day workers strike. kron 4 s mike pelton joins us live now from hayward where he has all the details. good morning mike. mike: out here this morning they tell me it was just as bad as expected but they are thrilled that bart is back. i am happy it is back. the lot less stressful to. in pam: trains began rolling just after 3 yesterday afternoon as part and its two largest labor unions agreed to extend their existing contract by 30 days. this came as a request from state mediators. negotiations will continue, but set-asides that-the two sides remain far apart on these issues. there could be another extension, the bart workers to go back on strike and we will just have to wait and see what happens. we don t want our writers stranded and we want a good contract. we are starting this last 30 day extension effort to hope that they will come to the table, fully prepared and fully engaged to work out this contract. reporter: the contract runs through august
