The Florida Planning Board is close to accepting the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) evaluating concerns related to the wind turbine proposed by New Leaf Energy.
The proposal would have rezoned roughly 500 acres of farmland for commercial and industrial use, but locals agreed this likely isn’t the end of development efforts.
The Florida Town Board submitted a PUD application to potentially rezone 600 acres of farmland. The Montgomery County Planning Board has returned the application saying they will not recommend the land be rezoned.
A decision on the proposal to rezone roughly 500 acres of farmland for commercial and industrial use is unlikely to be made before the end of the year.
