Strother named assistant vice president for public safety

Kenneth Strother Jr., director of operations in the Department of Public Safety (DPS), has been named assistant vice president for public safety, effective June 1.
“Community caretaking is our mission at public safety,” said Kenneth Strother Jr., who has been named assistant vice president for public safety. “I am honored and excited that I can continue my service to the campus community in this new role.”

Strother has served as director of operations in public safety since January 2019, managing the day-to-day operations of the department and serving as second-in-command. He will succeed Paul Ominsky, who is retiring on June 1 after leading DPS for 11 years.
Mollie Marcoux Samaan, Class of 1991, who has served as the University’s Ford Family Director of Athletics since 2014, will be leaving Princeton to join the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) as their ninth commissioner. The University will undertake a national search to identify its next director of athletics.

Princeton University officials told university employees in a memo on Thursday that the school’s goal is to resume a fully in-person residential program in the fall.
The memo, sent by Provost Deborah Prentice and Executive Vice President Treby Williams, outlines principles that will guide the university’s return to in-person operations.
“Thanks to our community’s commitment to following public health and safety guidelines, we have been able to continue our academic work and return many of our undergraduate students to campus.
