1. Lake LBJ (Lyndon Baines Johnson)
I learned to water ski years ago on Lake LBJ. It was less crowded, and the water was glassy early in the morning, perfect for waterskiing. The lake is a reservoir on the Colorado River in the Texas Hill Country about 45 miles northwest of Austin, formed in 1950. Originally called Lake Granite Shoals, the name changed in 1965 to honor President Lyndon B Johnson. With 6,534 surface acres and a maximum of 90 feet in depth, Lake LBJ offers the best fishing, boating, and overall fun. Beginning in Kingsland, the lake follows the Colorado River for 21 miles to Horseshoe Bay.

Home-cooked meals became essential during the pandemic, and many at-home cooks sought nutritious foods to boost health and (hopefully!) avoid sickness. Other consumers were already eating “health” food long before COVID-19.
As with any other kind of food, you will find fads among health foods. Unfortunately, foodie fads tend to be really expensive — unless you make them yourself, which can be a lot easier than you think.
Not only will you save money when you make or grow it yourself, but you’ll also know what’s in it – and what’s
Toro Toro, 1300 Lamar, will open at the Four Seasons Hotel Houston in fall 2021. This will be the sixth location for the concept. The hotel has partnered with Richard Sandoval Hospitality to bring his award-winning global Pan-Latin Steakhouse to Houston. It will open in the hotel’s revamped third floor restaurant space, replacing Quattro, the now-closed Italian restaurant known for its spectacular brunches..
Toro Toro is a combination of the Japanese word for tuna and the Spanish word for bull, representing a menu that will feature seafood and steaks. With vibrant Pan-Latin flavors from Rodizio-style Churrasco and creative shareable small plates, the new restaurant will also take inspiration from the convivial dining culture of Central and South America. The restaurant will feature an open kitchen with a wood-burning grill with meats presented and carved tableside. There will be family-style ceviche,

The size of new single-family homes has increased substantially in the last few decades. However, a recent trend in slightly smaller homes that began several years ago might be reversed by the COVID-19 pandemic. As homebuyers spend more time at home, they are seeking houses with more space. According to data from Realtor.com, the median size of residential listings in the U.S. was 1,838 square feet in 2020, but home sizes vary widely by market.

HOUSTON — In early March, a delivery truck carrying dozens of bags of live Louisiana crawfish arrived at Crawfish & Noodles. The restaurant, in a district known as Asiatown, is arguably Houston’s best-known purveyor of Viet-Cajun crawfish. The style expands the flavor profile of traditional South Louisiana whole boiled crawfish, with modified spice blends and a twist developed by Vietnamese-American chefs: a generous bath in seasoned butter sauce.
HOUSTON, Texas -- The Houston Farmers Market has landed a major new tenant. Legendary Viet-Cajun restaurant Crawfish & Noodles will open its second location at the property, real estate developer MLB Capital Partners announced.
The restaurant hardly needs an introduction, but let's use this opportunity to recount a few of its most prominent accomplishments. Credited with leading the culinary movement that blends Vietnamese and Cajun traditions, chef-owner Trong Nguyen was named a finalist in the 2020 James Beard Awards in the Best Chef: Texas category after being named a semifinalist for Best Chef: Southwest in both 2018 and 2019.
His Chinatown restaurant features a menu that runs the gamut stir-fried noodles and stewed turkey legs to chicken wings fried in fish sauce - and of course, signature items such as its salt and pepper, stir fried blue crabs and garlic butter-drenched mudbugs. Crawfish & Noodles has been featured on TV shows such as The Zimmern List and David Chang's Netflix series Ugly Delicious.
