CNNâs Fareed Zakaria blew out of the water the idea that the Pentagon was asking for ever larger military spending because of the Chinese threat, its own effectiveness as a military machine in places like Afghanistan, or as value for money. He showed that the Pentagonâs obsession with its âmilitary edgeâ over competitors was totally overblown.
