2021 - a Terrible Year for Journalism

Amid the misdeeds and malpractice in the media, they also saw a loss of influence as a result. Journalism took a step back.

Liz Cheney Goes on Fox News, Loses Her Ever-Loving Mind

She went on Fox News this evening with Bret Baier. Instead of trying to reconcile with voters or show that she’s focused on moving forward and combating Joe Biden, the Wyoming congresswoman lost her ever-loving mind, ranting about “The Big Lie” and refusing to hold Democrats accountable for anything. She even managed to attack Fox News directly, which is an odd thing to do when you are being interviewed by someone as straight and level as Baier. Here are the clips courtesy of Curtis Houck over at Newsbusters (a must-follow if you are on Twitter). Excellent follow-up from @BretBaier: "You're saying you are dedicating your life to opposing him…Why should Wyoming say reelect you when you're spending so much energy opposing him so little opposing Biden?"

Watch: Tucker Carlson Destroys 'Elites' and Liberal Media Over Fake Russia Bounty Story

(AP Photo/Richard Drew, File) The 2020 story was explosive. Vladimir Putin’s Russia was placing bounties on the heads of American soldiers in Afghanistan. The liberal media went crazy. Congressional Democrats — and more than a few Republicans — held hearings, and declared that more oversight of Donald Trump was in the national security interest of the United States. White House reporters, already fixated on the 2016 Russian collusion hoax, pushed press secretary Kayleigh McEnany daily over Trump’s lack of response to U.S. Intelligence reports and why Trump refused to confront Putin, if not take retaliatory action. Just one problem. As reported by Fox News on Friday, a senior Biden administration official said Thursday the intelligence community only had “low to moderate” confidence in the Russian bounty story, meaning it is unproven and possibly untrue, due to a reliance on “detainee reporting.” The revelation came as the administration announced a new series of sanctions against Russia for a host of reasons, but the bounty story was not among them.

Liz Cheney Plays the Fool After Anti-Trump 'Bombshell' Collapses

(AP Photo/Matt Rourke, File) Yesterday, Joe Biden’s own intelligence community dropped the news that the “Russian bounties” story used to target President Trump was absolute garbage. Of course, some of us knew it before the 2020 election and reported that (see That ‘Bombshell’ Russian Bounty Story Was Just Officially Shown to Be Garbage). Once again, “right-wing” news outlets were proven right while CNN and other “unbiased” outlets were made to look like the unreliable, partisan sources they are. But on the political side, there was one figure who went all-in on the nonsense in order to try to keep the perpetual war in Afghanistan going. That person was Rep. Liz Cheney. As I wrote at the time, her behavior was beyond the pale.
