Protesting farmer-filmmaker made posterboy for farm laws, sends legal notice to BJP
Protesting farmer-filmmaker Harpreet Singh, whose photo was used by the BJP in an ad in support of the farm laws, has sent a legal notice to the Punjab BJP unit and the BJP headquarters over unauthorised use of his picture and plans to take more legal action.

On Monday, the 36-year-old actor and filmmaker Harpreet Singh woke up to an unusual message from his friend, that he was the face of the happy farmer , supporting the new farm policies of the BJP government on social media.

Closely associated with the ongoing farmers agitation, Harpreet Singh said the BJP s Punjab unit used his pictures from the internet to drum up support for the farm laws on Facebook.

BJP s Punjab unit was left red-faced after a poster they used on their social media page turned out to be that of a farmer sitting in protest against the Centre s new farm laws. The farmer in question, Harpreet Singh has been closely associated with the ongoing agitation.
