has not produced a stable and prosperous middle east that is benefiting the united states. sure, there is a point to me made on that. and if we are talking about syria and the u.s. counter-isis mission, it is going on for about four years and led by american special forces, special operations forces. it is wildly successful. there are now roughly 2,000 american special forces in syria. they are there to gather intelligence, to conduct air-strikes but mostly there to work with a local partner, a kurdish-led partner. and that partnership h bn phenomenally producte. they have killed, according to commanders, tens of thousands of isis fighters and they have reduced isis to two small pockets in syria. so one could theoretically understand why the president comes out and said we are done and time to pull the stakes and come home.
