A royal thank you for unsung community heroes during COVID-19
Staff and clients threw a royal thank you party Tuesday for some behind-the-scenes people who helped others make it through the COVID-19 crisis.
Royal Estates of Wichita Falls hosted an event celebrating unsung heroes who helped keep the senior community safe during the pandemic.
The event honored the Wichita Falls City-County Health Department, Meals on Wheels, Boomtown Pharmacy, Hawk Pharmacy, Eagle Pharmacy and the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank.
“We see their hard work, dedication, and heart- and we appreciate them more than they can imagine,” the home said in a release.

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (TNN) - The Wichita Falls Runners Club and Endurance House partnered together to host the clubâs 15-th annual âBest Dam Runâ.
Over 250 runners lined up at Lake Wichita but there were there to do more than just cross the finish line.
Those who showed up were able to run a 5k or a 10k after paying a $25-$35 sign up fee. The proceeds will be going towards helping two organizations in Wichita Falls, Base Camp Lindsey and The Midwestern State University cross country and track girls team.

The Wichita Falls Area Food Bank is teaming up with Walmart and Sam’s Club for a campaign to combat food insecurity.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent economic impact, at least one in six people have experienced food insecurity in 2021.
The Fight Hunger. Spark Change. Campaign, a part of Feeding America, will run in stores and online through May 3.
