It’s gonna be May (are we still doing that joke?) soon, which means HBO Max – which has quickly become one of the best streaming services around in terms of content – is going to unleash a whole slew of new movies (and TV shows) you’re going to want to check out. So let’s take a gander at the best TV shows and movies coming to HBO Max in May 2021, shall we?
Tenet
Tenet is coming to HBO Max (even though
Christopher Nolanisn’t such a fan of the streaming service). I was mixed on
Everything Coming To Netflix, Disney Plus, HBO Max, Hulu And Prime In May
The last week of April is upon us, so it’s time to take a look at what lies ahead in May. All the major streaming services –
Netflix, Disney Plus, HBO Max, Hulu and Amazon Prime Video – are serving up a stacked load of fresh content to keep subscribers happy over the course of the month, as there’s a ton of licensed movies and TV series on the way, as well as a range of must-see original titles.
Justice League director Zack Snyder, which debuts on the 21st. Dave Bautista stars as the leader of a group of mercenaries who plot a heist on a Las Vegas casino in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. Netflix has high hopes for the pic, too, as an animated spinoff series and a prequel movie are confirmed to be in the works.

HBO Max Announces Over 90 New Movies/TV Shows For May
Following hot on the heels of competitors like Netflix, Disney Plus and more,
HBO Max is now here to supply us with its May lineup, and as usual, it’s a doozy.
Comprised of licensed titles, originals, TV shows and movies, there’s literally something for everyone. It’s an exhaustive list, no doubt, but among the highlights is definitely Christopher Nolan’s mind-bending
Tenet, which hit theaters – well, the ones that were open – over the summer and is another thrilling effort from the always interesting director.
Admittedly, it didn’t make as big of a splash as some of his other films, and probably didn’t live up to Warner Bros.’ expectations, but a lot of that was obviously due to the pandemic and now that it’s arriving on HBO Max, a lot more people will get the chance to see it. Just be prepared to have your mind messed with, as it’s arguably the director’s most complicated and intricate piece of work yet.

It’s almost March, which will mark one year since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States (or at least the point when this country began taking it seriously). Why not distract yourself from what is sure to be a litany of anniversary articles by watching a few films instead? There are some awfully good movies leaving HBO Max in March 2021, and we’ll highlight several of them and then provide you with the entire list below.
Alien
Alien has become one of those movies that’s so ingrained in our cultural consciousness that it’s difficult to imagine what a shock wave this must have been when it originally debuted. Shedding the baggage of its many sequels, Ridley Scott’s brilliant combination of science fiction and horror still maintains every ounce of its power all these years later – largely thanks to Sigourney Weaver’s star-making performance, killer production design, and those indelible creature effects.
