Since the release of her outstanding rock LP
Thatâs How Rumors Get Started last summer, Margo Price has released some fine supplementary tracks and other materials that emphasize the strengths of the individual songs. If you listened to cuts from the album â or maybe alternate takes like the âsynthphonicâ version of âIâd Die for Youââ and thought, âDang, Iâd like to have that as a single,â youâre not alone. Price has announced A Series of Rumors, a 7-inch subscription series featuring songs from
Rumors as well as some special bonuses.
Below, take a listen to the studio version of âLong Live the King,â a fan favorite from Priceâs live shows. The ballad puts a spotlight on three highly regarded figures â Elvis Presley, Martin Luther King Jr. and John Lennon. Each had a massive impact despite their lives ending too soon, and in the case of King and Lennon, being cut short by gunmen. Aside

Margo Price has officially released a new single called âLong Live the King,â which sheâs long performed live. The song pays tribute to Elvis Presley, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., John Lennon, and will be available through Priceâs new mail-order record club. Check it out below.
ââLong Live the Kingâ is a song about three extraordinary men who changed the course of history for the better,â Price in a press release. âBut no one is without flaw and they each had a duality in their personalities. This song is also about not idolizing celebrities or putting people up on a pedestal because we are all human and we all make mistakes.â

Melanie ChartoffNicolette Jackson Pownall Photography
Actress and author Melanie Chartoff was only 8 years old when her first published work reached the masses: a poem that was part of an advertisement for a home improvement business published in the New Haven Register in the 1950s.
Chartoff, 72, fell in love with acting and theater early on, too. Growing up, she remembers getting roles in plays at Yale University as part of its drama club; this was before the school allowed women in 1969. She would also see pre-Broadway tryouts at the Shubert Theater. At home, she would regularly sing and harmonize with her mother to musical theater albums rented from area libraries.
