BHUBANESWAR: Rajendra University’s application for the grant of recognition, following its upgrade to a varsity, was rejected by the University Grants Commission (UGC) last year.
However, the matter came to light on Friday when the higher education department wrote a letter to the commission requesting it to re-examine the issue and grant the recognition to the university situated in Balangir district.
The institution had sought recognition according to Section 2(f) of the UGC Act. The commission provides financial assistance to eligible colleges, which are included in Section 2(f), and declared fit to receive central assistance (UGC grant) under Section 12 (B) of the UGC Act, 1956.

BALASORE: A Technology Business Incubator (TBI) was inaugurated at Fakir Mohan University (FMU) on Saturday by Union Minister of State for MSME Pratap Chandra Sarangi.
Assuring all help for the newly-established facility, the Minister said FMU is the first State-funded university in Odisha to have such an incubator. MSME can play a key role in boosting the employment potential of the country.

Bhubaneswar, Feb 27 (UNI) A Technology Business Incubator was established in Fakir Mohan University at Balasore, in presence of Union Minister of state for MSME, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Pratap Chandra Sarangi on Saturday.
Addressing the faculty members, students and staff of F.M University, Mr Sarangi urged the students to stand on their own feet and to work towards the development of the country.
While lauding the University, the minister said: I am happy that F.M University is the first among the state funded universities in the state to establish a Technology Business Incubator.

BHUBANESWAR: Fakir Mohan University Balasore will set up a technology business incubator (TBI) in its campus very soon to promote entrepreneurship with the help of the government and private business bodies. The university collaborated with KIIT-TBI on Wednesday for creating entrepreneurship among youths and students.
Dinabandhu Sahoo, vice-chancellor of Fakir Mohan University, said an incubation centre is needed for this region of the state to help the entrepreneurs especially start-ups. “Several industrial houses are operating their business in Balasore and Bhadrak districts. Youths and students can create their enterprises by using our TBI to solve the local problems and generate employment,” he added.
