FONDA As current Montgomery County Court Judge Philip V. Cortese is set to retire at the end of the year, Amsterdam resident and attorney, Bethany Schumann-McGhee is seeking to fill the soon-to-be open position.
Schumann-McGhee announced on Monday that she intends to run for the Montgomery County Family Court Judge position.
According to a press release, she has worked with various attorneys in the capital region, and opened Bethany Schumann-McGhee, Attorney at Law firm in January 2010. Since starting her own firm, she has practices extensively in family courts in the capital region. She also is currently a part-time assistant public defender in Montgomery County Family Court, and recently served as president of the Montgomery County Bar Association for two years.
