Two offenders who pinched almost £100 worth of cosmetics enjoyed vary different experiences at Falkirk Sheriff Court.

Mary Laird (25), 3 Abercrombie Street, Camelon, did not even bother to turn up to the court on Thursday.
Her partner in crime Natasha Teven (35) did show up and, like Laird, had previously pleaded guilty to the theft of cosmetics from Superdrug, Howgate Centre, Falkirk on December 16 and Well Pharmacy, The Carron Centre, Carron on November 30 last year.
The court heard the goods stolen by the two women totalled £88.88 and there had been no recovery of the items.

James King, 36, 12 Anderson Park Road, admitted sending messages to the woman that were grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character on March 16.
He appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday where procurator fiscal depute Amy Sneddon said King’s former partner grew concerned when she set off on a dog walk and found a bag on her doorstep containing toys relating to her deceased pet.
Ms Sneddon said: “She knew the only person who could’ve left such items was her estranged husband.

Sheriff Derek Livingston asked: “Why has he done nothing about it?”
The solicitor replied: “He hasn’t done a Criminal Justice Social Work report before.”
Sheriff Livingston said he was deferring sentence until June 3 for a background report and restriction of liberty order assessment “with some hesitation”.
Bail was continued.

Jason O’Hagan ignored his court orders and contacted the woman he had been abusive towards.

O’Hagan (19) failed to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Thursday, but had previously pleaded guilty to engaging in abusive behaviour towards his former partner between October 27 and November 14 in 2019 and breaching his bail by contacting her at Forth Valley Royal Hospital on October 28, 2019.
Sheriff Derek Livingston deferred sentence on O’Hagan, Building 2, Flat 3/2, Barholm Crescent, Erskine, until May 27 for reports.
