The Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccine has officially reached North Carolina. The state received over 83,000 doses of the newly-approved vaccine. Many Triad health departments didn't receive shipments of the vaccine, but some did. Guilford County received 2,000 doses of the new vaccine this week, while Forsyth County received 9,000 doses. It's unclear why Guilford County received fewer doses of the shipment when the county's population size.
Forsyth is still waiting to decide Friday s plans. One of the other big reasons some providers closed clinics is because they still have not gotten vaccine shipments due to severe winter weather in other states.
Guilford, Forsyth, Randolph and Rockingham Counties along with Wake Forest Baptist Health are still waiting to get their vaccine doses for the week.
The NCDHHS vaccine rollout makes adults 65+ eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, but it gives 'flexibility' to counties to cap the minimum age limit at 75.

FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. As state lawmakers push for a faster rollout of the vaccine, local health departments are trying to become more efficient.
Forsyth County has given out 4,500 of 9,000 vaccine s allocated by the state since their roll out in December.
Joshua Swift, Forsyth County Health Director said they received an additional 3,000, Tuesday.
