Forsyth County: Douglas Guynes charged with child abuse

Updated: 6:28 PM EST Mar 5, 2021 WXII12.com Web Staff A Kernersville man is charged with child abuse after authorities accused him of physically assaulting and shaking his 8-week-old son, causing serious physical injury. The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said evidence points to the infant being injured as a result of an assault by Douglas Guynes, 24.Guynes was arrested and charged with felony negligent child abuse causing serious physical injury, misdemeanor child abuse and misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a child.Guynes is being held in custody at the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center in lieu of $20,000 bail. His preliminary court date is set for Thursday, March 25.

Man found shot to death outside Winston-Salem gaming business

An argument at a gaming business may have led to the shooting, detectives say. Author: Lea Wilson Updated: 11:35 AM EST January 27, 2021 WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. A man was shot and killed Saturday in front of a gaming business in Winston-Salem. Police were called to Ocean King in the 600 block of E. Monmouth Street for reports of the shooting. Officers found Hubert Rivers, 28,  lying on the street with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead. Detectives said Rivers got into an argument with someone inside Ocean King before the shooting. Detectives later arrested Quensheta Chyann Jackson, 29, in connection with the shooting and charged her with murder.
