Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee
It’s time for a special show with a Throwback edition of Smackdown. I’m not sure what that is going to entail but we are going to be seeing at least the old logo. I can’t imagine we’ll be seeing the big fist just due to logistics, but a few cameos should be in order as well. Let’s get to it.
We open with a Rock montage talking about Smackdown.
The opening video is a collection of all kinds of old school stuff, including Gorilla Monsoon on pay per views.
The (modern version of the) old WWF logo is back and McAfee is in a Vince McMahon blue blazer, while Cole is in the denim shirt.
Keep Refreshing For The Latest Results
Hello everyone, and welcome to another Friday night which means another episode of WWE Smackdown. I’m Robert Winfree, my apologies for not being here last week but I was traveling for my father’s wedding. And of course I missed maybe the best match WWE has put on free TV in months if not years as well as Roman finally getting a long overdue music upgrade. Ah well, maybe this week will be good too? We’ll probably get more movement on the Intercontinental title picture, Bayley will almost certainly continue antagonizing Bianca Belair, and we’ll try to see what the Smackdown landscape looks like without Daniel Bryan while Cesaro continues to pursue a title shot against Roman Reigns. I’m also sure we’ll get the never ending interactions between the Street Profits and Dirty Dawgs to continue, because the tag team scene is a near wasteland on Smackdown. Anyway will all that in mind let’s see what WWE Smackdown has in store for thi

WWE SmackDown Viewing Party. Tonight’s show comes from the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida.
– Tonight’s Throwback WWE SmackDown on FOX opens up with a throwback-style intro video. We cut to a classic opening video with The Rock and others featured. We’re live from the WWE ThunderDome at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida as pyro goes off. There’s throwback theme music and graphics. The SmackDown fist is also there on an updated set. Michael Cole welcomes us to the show and he’s at ringside with Pat McAfee, who is dressed like a young WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon. They lead us to a look back at the August 26, 1999 SmackDown main event between The Rock and Triple H, which was the first main event of SmackDown. They tout how there have been 1,133 SmackDown episodes in a row. Cole says we will make more magic tonight.
Winfree’s AEW Dark: Elevation (Ep. 8) Review 5.03.21
Hey there people, another Monday so here’s another episode of AEW Dark: Elevation. We’re still clocking in at under 2 hours, though cramming 14 matches into 100 minutes seems like an odd choice. But who knows how it will turn out. We’ve got Jon Moxley, Miro, and Orange Cassidy among some other recognizable names performing tonight so let’s get to the action. Match #1: Miro vs. Will Allday
This will not be pretty. Miro easily overpowers Allday then clubs him down. There’s a brief flurry from Allday but Miro shuts that down with a belly to belly suplex. More Miro offense, he’s just playing with his food now while yelling at the crowd to send him champions. Allday eventually avoids a corner rush and sends Miro over the top rope. Suicide dive from Allday, they botched Miro catching him so they repeat the spot and then Allday sends Miro into the post. Back in the ring Allday jumps into a thrust kic
