Falmouth town meeting to reconvene Aug. 22

FALMOUTH Town Moderator David Vieira has again continued the recessed Falmouth annual town meeting.
Vieira has scheduled the meeting to reconvene at 7 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Lawrence School auditorium, according to a declaration posted Thursday.
The first session of town meeting, held June 22, voted on seven of the 49 articles in the original town warrant, with plans to reconvene 30 days later to vote on the remaining articles.
The meeting was scheduled to reconvene July 22, but after consulting with the chairwoman of the Falmouth Select Board and Health Agent Scott McGann, Vieira determined that the coronavirus public health emergency would prevent town meeting members from attending, according to the declaration.
The Falmouth Department of Public Works and Cape Cod Commission are developing a Complete Streets Prioritization Plan. Complete Streets is an investment program that identifies projects with the goal of making roads safe and accessible for all usersânot just automobilesâincluding pedestrians, cyclists and public transit.
The Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee will invite public comment at its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, January 6, at 7 PM. The committee will review the priorities in the Falmouth Bike Plan, which can be viewed at www.falmouthma.gov/DocumentCenter/View/1546/2015-Falmouth-Bike-Plan-PDF, in order to identify additional areas of concern and how these might be incorporated in the Complete Streets prioritization plan.
