Stafford mulls having businesses, startups compete for coronavirus aid

Stafford mulls having businesses, startups compete for coronavirus aid Supervisor Tinesha Allen wants to pour more funds into the Economic Development Authority to help new businesses that want to start up in Stafford County. When the Stafford County Board of Supervisors met on. Tuesday, January 19, Allen pushed the county’s EDA to create a new small business loan program. Allen says that such a program could help spur new businesses in the area and economic recovery. Many of the surrounding localities, including Stafford, already have loan programs to help support businesses. Still, demand for them has decreased due to the coronavirus pandemic. In response, the county has already revised the EDA loan programs’ rules to make them more flexible.
