Government’s decision to allow people to move from containment to non-containment areas will result in the spread of the COVID-19 virus, says National Federation Party leader Professor Biman Prasad.
He made the comment yesterday after Health Ministry permanent secretary Dr James Fong said five Fiji Corrections Service officers who travelled from Naboro to Rakiraki tested positive for the virus.
The NFP leader asked if the decision to allow movement was done “willy-nilly or after taking into account the risks associated with it”.
“Questions have to be asked if they were swabbed and got their results before moving to Rakiraki or they just packed their bags and moved,” Dr Prasad said.
