Lawyers for the University of the South Pacific, Munro Leys had agreed that the contract of former Vice Chancellor Professor Pal Ahluwalia was terminated and revocated.
Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum made the remarks in his contribution on the debate for the review of the USP 2017 Annual Report.

After hearing the story shared by her mother of how she was limited to pursue a better education, Naailah Zahra Khan decided to fulfil her mother’s dream.
The Year 13 students was the top scorer for the Nadi Muslim College in last year’s Fiji Year 12 Certificate Examination.
She scored 387 out of 400.
The 17-year-old said she was moved by her mother Roselyn Nisha Khan’s humble background.

A total of 564 Fijians are employed in meat works, hospital and accommodation and aged care sectors under the Pacific Labour Scheme (PLS) in Australia.
This was revealed in Parliament this week by the Minister for Employment, Parveen Bala.
In addition to the number of Fijians employed under the scheme, the ministry is preparing more workers for other upcoming labour mobility programmes.
