As a precautionary measure and practicing social responsibility around COVID-19, the annual ‘Reclaim the Night’ march which has become an event synonymous with International Women’s Day in Fiji has been cancelled.
Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre Coordinator Shamima Ali clarified this in a statement today.
Ms Ali said the Centre will be holding a candle light vigil for a small number of people at its Suva office on tomorrow evening, March 8, 2021.
She encouraged everyone to do the same from wherever they are and send the Centre a photo or upload one and tag the Centre with the hashtags: #reclaimthenight #IWD #stoprapefiji
