GLOVERSVILLE – Adam W.Mitchell was arraigned in Fulton County Court Tuesday on charges of 2nd-degree murder, 1st-degree assault and 3rd-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Mitchell, 52, of 207 N. Main St., Apt. 2A, was indicted by a Fulton County grand jury on all three charges on June 21. The arraignment took place Tuesday in front of Judge Michael Smrtic.
Mitchell was first arrested and charged in March after police said he stabbed and killed his neighbor, Joseph Robert Hoyt, 39, of 207 N. Main St., Apt 3B, on March 27.
Police officers found Hoyt dead in the hallway of 207 N. Main St, according to a news release Tuesday from Fulton County District Attorney Chad Brown. An autopsy on March 28 concluded Hoyt’s death was a homicide.
