JOHNSTOWN Local government and health officials are gearing up for Fulton County’s first COVID-19 vaccinations, part of 4,200 earmarked for the Mohawk Valley.
County Administrative Officer Jon Stead, part of the state’s Mohawk Valley Control Room overseeing the COVID-19 pandemic, said Wednesday that he has learned the county’s first doses will come out of the 4,200 earmarked for the Mohawk Valley. No exact time frames are set.
Stead said Gov. Andrew Cuomo has announced that New York state is due to receive 170,000 initial doses of the coronavirus vaccine. He’s not sure exactly who will be getting the initial vaccinations, although it is being done in phases.
