Willie Craddick Jr., a young Athens man who moved to the Atlanta metro area to attend Georgia State University and published two books by the age of 17, was slain in his home last week in College Park.
Craddick, now 21, was shot in the head, College Park Police Lt. Onika Manning said Wednesday.
Police believe Craddick may have been killed Jan. 9, but his body was not found until Jan. 12.
Family members said the crime was discovered when a friend, concerned about no contact from Craddick, visited Craddick s home.
There did not appear to be a struggle in the home and a motive has not been established, according to Manning. She declined to say if anything was missing from the residence.
