Fulton Bank to work with minority mortgage bankers on housing, diversity

Fulton Bank, Lancaster County’s largest bank, said Monday it has agreed to work with the National Association of Minority Mortgage Bankers of America to address the housing needs of underserved communities and to develop a more diverse mortgage workforce. Jeff Scheuren, president of Fulton Mortgage Co., said the effort “will build on programs we offer across the spectrum of mortgage lending, including those focused on underserved communities and first-time homebuyers. “It also aligns with key pillars of our Fulton Forward initiative to enhance our communities through affordable housing and homeownership,” Scheuren said.

Upper Southampton company crowned winner at Spark Bowl competition

Upper Southampton company crowned winner at Spark Bowl competition Bucks County Courier Times A plastics manufacturing company based in Upper Southampton was named winner of this year s Spark Bowl, a Shark Tank -like competition held at Delaware Valley University in Doylestown last month. Owners of five small businesses pitched their ideas to a panel of judges. The top three teams walked away with checks to support their ideas.  Undergraduate business students from DelVal worked with the finalists as business consultants, helping them prepare to make their pitches to the judges. Prizes were awarded to the student consultant teams who worked with the winning businesses. 

Community Needs Grant applications due June 9

Organizations can receive general operating funds of $10,000 May 13, 2021 Delaware nonprofits are invited to apply for general operating grants of $10,000 from the Community Needs Grants Program at the Delaware Community Foundation. The program is part of the Delaware COVID-19 Strategic Response Fund, a partnership of DCF and Philanthropy Delaware. In this round, the program – which has awarded more than $3.6 million in pandemic-related grants – will fund a mix of small and mid-sized organizations serving Delaware communities. Priority consideration will be given to smaller organizations and those with a board of directors that represents the diversity and demographics of the clients and communities they serve.
