Fulbright selects 18 semifinalists from UNG
Eighteen UNG students and alumni have been selected as semifinalists for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, which is a prestigious, highly competitive fellowship program.
Record-setting is one word to describe the University of North Georgia s (UNG) efforts to secure students and alumni placement in the Fulbright U.S. Student Program.
This spring, UNG has 18 semifinalists for the prestigious, highly competitive fellowship program. It bests the previous high mark of 13 semifinalists from 2019. Last year, only 16 from UNG applied for the Fulbright.
Dr. Anastasia Lin, assistant vice president of research and engagement and head of UNG s Nationally Competitive Scholarships office, credited the achievement to the record 27 Fulbright applicants and their exceptional academic and co-curricular preparation for a national award.

A variety of different programming will celebrate our student and faculty Fulbrighters and allow USF students, faculty and the community to learn more about the Fulbright Programs from a representative from the Institute of International Education (IIE) and USF’s Fulbright Program Advisors.

After graduating cum laude from Western Michigan University in 2013, Bradley Ryktarsyk headed to the Big Apple to work at the Institute of International Education before making his way to Seton Hall.
Ryktarsyk is pursuing a master s degree in Diplomacy and International Relations, while working as a graduate assistant at the School. Fulbright Announces Three Mount Students as Semifinalists Byline Share This Post
Three Mount St. Mary’s University seniors have been named semifinalists for the prestigious and highly competitive 2021-22 Fulbright U.S. Student Program. Julia Baer, Nathaniel Bald and Kerri Czekner are one step away from attaining a grant, which would allow them to continue their academic pursuits in New Zealand, Rwanda and Italy, respectively.
“This year, the Fulbright received a record-breaking number of applications, up 12% from last year’s number. This makes it even more impressive that the Mount had three out of four students reach semi-finalist status this year,” said Jamie Gianoutsos, Ph.D., associate professor of history and director of the Office of Competitive Fellowships. “Through Fulbright, students have the opportunity to further their education, conduct research and immerse themselves in a new culture.” She noted that this is the first year that Mount students
Nonprofit that offers mentoring to law school applicants seeks more volunteers

A new group formed by Harvard Law School students, which pairs mentors with people applying for competitive scholarships and graduate programs, helped almost 500 candidates during the most recent application cycle, and they are looking for more volunteers.
The nonprofit organization, known as Dear Future Colleague, focuses on helping underrepresented applicants with admissions and scholarships. It focused on law school applicants during the first year, with services including LSAT prep and admissions essay review. Going forward, it plans to expand services to include other types of graduate schools, according to its website.
