Phuket Marine Chief issues COVID, New Year safety order
PHUKET: The Phuket Marine Office has ordered all boat operators to ensure they strictly comply with the measures to prevent, monitor and control the spread of COVID-19 following an order issued by the provincial government.

Phuket Marine Office Chief Nachaphong Pranit explained in his announcement that the Phuket Communicable Disease Committee on Wednesday (Dec 23) had ordered the Phuket Marine Office to notify all port and pier operators on the island of the order.

PHUKET: Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew has issued an order for employers of migrant workers to not move any migrant workers into or out of the province.

The movement of migrant workers into or out of Phuket has been banned by order of the provincial government.
Governor Narong explained in the order, issued yesterday (Dec 23) and announced after 8pm last night, that as the outbreak of COVID-19 in Samut Sakhon and other provinces posed a threat to health of people on the island, the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) had ordered all provincial governments to strictly control the movement of people in each province.

PHUKET: Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew has issued an order banning all mass events organised by the government to celebrate the New Year. Smaller private parties held by hotels, restaurants and members of the public may still go ahead, but must comply with COVID-19 protection measures.

All mass events organised by Patong Municipality have been cancelled.
The popular Lard Yai Walking Street market in Phuket Town has been suspended for two weeks.
