Dudley is making his way around the Fenton community and putting smiles on everyone he meets. Toni Gorris of Fenton Township said Dudley is a gigantic stuffed dog that they keep at their home for when the grandkids come over. Since the grandkids enjoy him so much, Gorris said they thought they would start taking him around town to various venues to take his photo. âI thought it just might be a happy thing for people to see during this difficult time,â Gorris said.Â
The Fenton Township Board of Trustees passed a resolution Monday, Jan. 4 to honor the first woman to achieve Eagle Scout rank in the township and in Genesee County.
Breanna Trecha, 18, of Fenton Troop 212G, is the 10th person in her family to earn the highest rank in scouting.
âI was very excited when I found out. I feel like itâs a huge accomplishment and was honored when they asked me about this resolution to congratulate me for this,â Trecha said, adding that itâs a âgreat honorâ to be the first woman in the area to receive the recognition. âI can be a role model to all the other girls who are trying to earn this accomplishment as well.â

Fenton Township officials have agreed to a multi-year contract with the Genesse County Sheriffâs Office.
At their latest meeting, the Fenton Township Board of Trustees voted in favor of renewing their contract with the Genessee County Sheriffâs Office for police services. They agreed to a 2-year contract ending December 31st, 2022, for a total of $782,811 per year. This is a 12-percent increase over the last contract signed.
The Tri-County Times reports this increase is due to the rising costs of healthcare and Genesee Countyâs ongoing issue with underfunded retirement plans. The county also assessed an administration fee for the first time.
âThe Genesee County Sheriffâs Office is investigating thefts of newly delivered packages from the front porch at homes in Fenton Township and Grand Blanc Township.
âDet. Sgt. Andrew Snyder said deputies responded to a home in the 2000 block of Ray Road in Fenton Township on Tuesday, Dec. 8 after they received a report of a larceny. Occupants of a black Oldsmobile Alero, with no license plate and a loud muffler, had stolen a package off the front porch.
âSnyder said a short time later, the same vehicle was seen at a home in the 2000 block of Thompson Road in Fenton Township. However, in this report, no items had been taken.
