Phelps County sheriff identifies couple in murder-suicide

ROLLA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Phelps County Sheriff has identified the couple that died from a murder-suicide reported Saturday.
According to a Facebook post from the department, deputies responded to the 11000 block of County Road 3160 around 7:30 a.m. after a family friend found 66-year-old Vita M. French dead.
Officials report 73-year-old Lawrence R. French was also found dead at the residence.
The Phelps County Sheriff’s department and coroner s office continue to investigate the incident.

Phelps County Sheriff investigating apparent murder-suicide

PHELPS COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A couple is dead after an apparent murder suicide, according to the Phelps County Sheriff.
According to a Facebook post from the department, deputies were sent to the 11000 block of County Road 3160 around 7:30 Saturday Morning after a family friend found the 66-year-old woman dead in her home.
After investigating, it is believed 73-year-old husband killed her before taking his own life.
Sheriff Michael Kirn said in a statement, At this time, there is no evidence to suggest otherwise. There is no threat to the public. The investigation is ongoing, with autopsies expected next week.”
